[Openswan Users] MTU question

Hi, I am using openswan in a transport mode over Gre. In regards to the
mtu.
How does the sending device take into consideration of the inside Gre
interface mtu?

Eth:ip:esp:gre:ip

For example a to b ipsec transport would send mss(mtu-ip-esp). If the
packets originate from the inside ip -> gre -> ip esp how does the gre
interface adjust its max mss not to exceed the outgoing mtu?
