[Openswan Users] Vista plain IPsec client

Hello,

is there a way to setup Windows Vista as a plain IPsec client over NAT? I read 
somewhere that for some reason it is not possible to run plain IPsec over 
NAT. Than I do not understand why it is possible to run L2TP/IPsec over NAT, 
since L2TP/IPsec uses plain IPsec...

Does L2TP have other advantages than receiving IP adress from the server 
protected network? Should I set up L2TP for Vista only to get it working over 
NAT?
