[Openswan Users] using different versions of KLIPS and Pluto on same machine

That should work, but i see no reason not to upgrade 2.4.8 to 2.4.12.
The only reason I can image is third party patches not supporting
2.4.12. 2.4.x is in maintenance mode, and between those versions there
were only bugfixes and additional kernel versions support.
