[Openswan Users] Does strongswan provide development APIs just like OpenSSL?

Well, my objective is to measure the latency of each phase of IPSec
communication session. I need insert some timing checkpoints in the IPSec
code.
If what you said is unfortunately true, is the only solution to modify the
source code of strongswan?
