I realise that. The line is just to prevent openswan from trying to
use an implicit "%defaultroute value for the interfaces, which will
cause your failure if there is no defaultroute.

I believe Jacco had an answer for the moving ppp+ devices when L2TP is
used. I have CC:ed him on this message.
