Yeah, you're right:
/usr/share/doc/packages/ppp/README.MSCHAP80 refers to that.
Recompiling is necessary.

Exactly what I did ;-)
But am I right, that even PAP for l2tpd is safe enough, because the whole
connection is secured by openswan?
