openswan_2.6.38-1_ar71xx.ipk is the name of the package - so
looks like > 2.6.35.

I can try it!

We ran some more tests - after a reboot it connected; disconnecting
and reconnecting was okay; later on it did not connect properly,
but this time it seemed to get through key exchange.  Despite an
abundance of logging it is not clear at all what the problem is.
