[Openswan Users] L2TP problem with OpenSWAN 2.6.x after changing default route

So, is there any additional troubleshooting/logging I can do to help
diagnose whatever's going on?

I managed to get it to build by modifying the Makefile to remove all
references to pfc.

After installing xl2tpd 1.2.8, the problem still occurs.
