I just setup a GRE tunnel between the hosts and configured openswan to
encrypt protocol 47 (GRE).  On my RHEL6 machines, the GRE tunnel uses
tun devices on either side.

If there is another way without encapsulating inside GRE, inside IPSEC
(and still be able to pass multicast traffic), I'd be very curious.
