[Openswan Users] unexpected STRING [xauth] trying to set up connection to SonicWall

Is there a current working example of how to connect
to a SonicWall?
I tried the configuration posted here:

sive_Mode_IKE_with_PreShared_key.pdf
And keep getting this error:
Informational Exchange message must be encrypted
