[Openswan Users] Is this possible? if so, how?

I came to VPN through CIPE and there were capabilities there I'd like to
replicate.

Under cipe there was a virtual interface involved and I could assign an
address separate from the main system interface and traffic is seen to
come from that.

How do I do that if it's possible?

I have a 2.6 kernel at both ends.
