Not sure about the error itself, but when looking at the download site, 2.2.4 
doesn't seem to exist. 2.2.1 is like 3.5 years old, and 2.4.2 is roughly 3 
years old. I highly suggest you'd upgrade your openswan package (to either 
2.4.13 or 2.6.16).
