The easiest way that does not depend on environment variables:
rpm -hiv xl2tpd-1.1.06-4.src.rpm
cd /usr/src/redhat/SOURCES
tar zxf xl2tpd-1.1.06.tar.gz
cd xl2tpd-1.1.06
Edit Makefile and change the DFLAGS= line to:
DFLAGS= -g -DDEBUG_HELLO -DDEBUG_CLOSE -DDEBUG_FLOW -DDEBUG_PAYLOAD -DDEBUG_CON
TROL -DDEBUG_CONTROL_XMIT -DDEBUG_FLOW_MORE -DDEBUG_MAGIC -DDEBUG_ENTROPY -DDEBU
G_HIDDEN -DDEBUG_PPPD -DDEBUG_AAA -DDEBUG_FILE -DDEBUG_FLOW -DDEBUG_HELLO -DDEBU
G_CLOSE -DDEBUG_ZLB
cd ..
tar zcf xl2tpd-1.1.06.tar.gz xl2tpd-1.1.06
rpmbuild -ba /usr/src/redhat/SPECS/xl2tpd.spec
rpm --nodeps --force -Uhv /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/i386/xl2tpd-1.1.06-4.i386.rpm
service xl2tpd restart
