Yes, I know. That's why I upgraded one of them.. If the problem is solved 
at that one and it becomes clear what causes it, I upgrade all of them.

Oh. that is very very old. And some security issues where fixed after 
those releases.
You should upgrade. You are also probably missing a few fixes to the 
netlink layer
code in pluto if you're using 2.2.x.
