[Openswan Users] [OpenSwan] gateway to gateway with diff. versions of ipsec /l2tp

hello
 testin a vpn between FC4 and a FC5 (gateway to gateway )
with
FC5 with ( openswan-2.4.4-1.1.2.1, l2tpd-0.69-0.4.20051030.fc5)
and FC4 ( openswan-2.4.4.1, l2tpd-0.69-13 )
knowing that the versions are slightly different,and the kernels used
are different
2.6.15-1.2054 for FC5 , 2.6.11-1.1369 for FC4

will this work out ?
or should try to use the same openswann version on both gateways ?

 l've succeeded to establish an ipsec connection
 but I'm having trouble with l2tp
