[Openswan Users] Openswan to freeswan error

Do you know how to disable DPD? For some reason, i could not find info
on disabling DPD in the README.DPD file, nor anywhere else.
 
I added this to my connection in ipsec.conf, but i am not sure if DPD is
truly disabled or whether DPD is not related to the problem i am having.
 
conn myconn
    ...
    dpddelay=0
    dpdtimeout=0
    auto=start

It seems a DPD (Dead Peer Detection ) issue...Try to disable dpd on
openswan side, since freeswan does not DPD feature...

I have a tunnel between an openswan gateway and a freeswan gateway that
just stops sending packets from openswan to freeswan. Once I send a
packet from the freeswan side back to the openswan gateway, then the
tunnel comes back alive again.

The route and "ipsec auto --status" all seems to show the tunnel is
okay, however, no pings or connections ever succeed from openswan to
freeswan, until I can send a packet in the reverse direction.

Has anyone seen this symptom and can give me guidance? Thanks,
