[Openswan Users] OpenSWAN and FreeSWAN are they Same or diff

Hi friends 
       I had just started decided to use OpenSWAN ,  I
 had downloaded the  openswan-doc-2.3.0-1rhel.i386.rpm
  ,  and was trying to read the documentation ,  But
the documentation in    
file:///usr/share/doc/openswan-doc-2.3.0/doc/HowTo.pdf
  , says about FreeSWAN 
               Is FreeSWAN and OpenSWAN are the same
or different ???
                         Kindly advice
