Makes sense. So I take it that there is nothing to do on the kernel or iptables side then if we want to include klips?

I suggest trying to build an rpm using packaging/redhat/openswan.spec
rpmbuild -ba openswan-2/packaging/redhat/openswan.spec --define 'buildklips 1'
If you do not want KLIPS, you can leave out the define part.
