So anybody know where Windoze keeps these, and how to set them?

   It's something that Microsoft fails to mention throughout all its voluminous
documentation.  They just sluff over it ( grrr! ).  In the documentation for
Windows Server 2003, they mention CHAP passwords having to be "reversibly 
encrypted".  They also talk about using the user's password for the CHAP
secret and having to "store the password in a reversibly encrypted form" to
work with CHAP.

   I think I'll try just setting everything to PAP and snarfing the password
with tcpdump....  OTOH, is there any compelling reason to use CHAP?  The 
entire session is, after all, encrypted with IPSEC.
