[Openswan Users] unable to build openswan-2.3.0 from the source on RHEL 3

I did without any problem but there was an advisory issued yesterday
saying the 2.3.0 is broken.

Has anybody managed to get a positive experience building the

openswan-2.3.0.tar.gz with RHEL v3 kernel 2.4.21-27 ?

After patching the kernel with openswan-2.3.0 it does not compile.
The same kernel and system configuration compiles successfully with the
2.2:
# ipsec --version
Linux Openswan cvs2002Mar12_01:19:03 (klips)

Interrestingly, the strongsec 2.3.0 does not compile either, although 
with different errors.
