Can you try this with 1.0.9 as well?

There are switches in the Makefile that allow you to disable serpent, which
is not used anyway. I've seen this errors in the past, but I'm not sure if
these were ever fixed. I just compiled 1.0.9 on my FC3/AMD64 and ignoring
the 64bit warnings, it compiles fine. But I do not have a 2.2. kernel installed.

Perhaps Ken knows?
