[Openswan Users] virtual interfaces

Hello. I've looked for this in the FAQ, but it isn't there, so...

When I try to configure Openswan on a virtual interface, like eth0:1, 
the "ip route" command fails, it says it doesn't know the device. Is 
there a way around this? I'd really like to use this on alternate IP 
addresses for a particular interface.
