The firewall on the VPN server was blocking UDP port 4500 packets (I
made a mistake in the previous mail when I said there was no firewall
infront of, sorry). As soon as I opened these ports the VPN connection
started working. I didn't changed any certificates so the problem was in
the firewall.
I don't know why the VPN connection was working if there was no Linksys
WRT54G router in front of it - the notebook was connected directly to
Internet.

If I disable "IPSEC passthrought" and "L2TP passthrough" on the Linksys
router the VPN connection does NOT work. No I have enabled these two
options and everything works fine...
