[Openswan Users] how to configure ah

hello ,
how to configure openswan 2.3.0 version connection between two gateways 
using AH only.
i tried according to usual procedure by entering connction details in ipsec 
.conf.
but i am getting pf_key  write error.
please mail if anybody has solution for this problem.
my  system is linux 2.4.20-8 box
here is my conn details
conn left-to-right
	left=172.20.17.85
	leftnexthop=172.20.17.1
	leftid=@bob
	right=172.20.17.84
	rightnexthop=172.20.17.1
	rightid=@alice
