If you're using KLIPS (2.4 kernel), you should be able to set routes to 
go through the tunnel when need be.

If you're using 2.6 IPSec (if I understand correctly), the kernel will 
automatically select which packets to encrypt, since there is no virtual 
interface for which to do routing.
