sorry, I forgot to mention. My message isn't exactly the same, but:
May 27 10:30:03 gw pluto[16684]: ERROR: "xxxx-xxx" #8: pfkey write() of 
SADB_ADD message 51 for Add SA esp.1513695c at xxx.xx.xx.xx failed. Errno 17: 
File exists

I found this message on the Linux 2.4 side after restarting linux 2.6 side.
