Please try the following (usuall Red Hat kernel module strategy):
o mv .config .save-my-config
o make mrproper
o mv .save-my-config .config
o make oldconfig twice
o make dep
o make bzImage

If that still breaks, verify first that you can build one of the
configs in configs/*

BTW you know you don't have to build your own kernel for using
openswan/natt (that's what the kernel, kernel-module and openswan rpms
are for), but you still may, of course.
