[Openswan Users] parameter nexthop

Hi, with OpenSwan 2.1 and tunnel site-to-site therefore with public ip (same ip associated pubblic interface on fw/gw) how end-point (no nat-t) necessary to use parameer *nexthop ?? I add what connect with pubblic interface on fw/gw there is a router xdsl 

..tunnel is:

eth0=ip pub on fw/wg --> router xdsl -->internet-->router xdsl-->eth0=ippub

.. also on the pubblic ip on the fw/gw (that is ip indicated in parameter left/right) must be possible to do ping or
enough ping on the pubblic ip on the router xdsl ??
