I'm curious how you got OpenSwan to emerge with Gentoo.  I had FreeSwan 
working on my Gentoo boxes and tried to migrate to OpenSwan.  I got the 
userland stuff emerged, but it conflicted with the kernelspace stuff.  How 
did you get your kernel patched?
