That's good.  I am more worried about the unusual deployments that we
could potentially affect.

For what it's worth, I am 90% sure it's OK to apply the proposed changes.

I have tested on Debian 5 and Ubuntu 10.04, running in net-to-net and
host-to-host.  While I didn't pass IPv6 through the session in my
setup, both systems have IPv6 and that part of the script worked fine.
