[Openswan dev] About openswan hash replaced

Hi all,

I would like to do some experiment about modify openswan hash  function,
For example I will to replace MD5 hash function by my custom hash function.
but I don't have much experience about this.

In my thought, there is md5.c in /programs/pluto in Openswan source code,If
I want to replace it
I modify it's content. Is it right way?

Maybe It's is a bad question. I have searched on the Internet,can't find
best solution to slove this question
Could you give some information about this question?
