I Have been trying to setup openswan for IPSEC tunnel between a linux (opensuse 10.3) and Windows XP host. I have been attempting to do this after following the guide located at <a href="http://natecarlson.com/linux/ipsec-x509.php#clientwin" target="_blank">http://natecarlson.com/linux/ipsec-x509.php#clientwin</a><br>

I have come to&nbsp; halt i followed the guide while making the modifications i thought were needed along the way(ips,file names, and so on), but when i try and ping from the&nbsp; windows host i get &quot;Negotiating IP Security &quot; for all the pings i try. And the linux host never gets a successful ping either. <br>

<br>I found several sites telling me to do an ipsec barf command for troubleshooting......i have attached the documents that i found to be necessary. This is my test environment in VMware Server. Attached are the barf output in txt format..... a copy of the ipsec.secrets file, the windows ipsec.conf file ... and a ipsec verify command txt file. <br>

<br>Please any help at all would be really appreciated....im stuck and would like to resolve this ASAP.... any help at all is grateful. <br>
